Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 7, 2026. This policy covers the EditToBase64 website and the Browser ToolBox Chrome extension.

Local tool processing

Page text, selected content, screenshots, images, and tool inputs are processed in your browser unless a feature clearly states otherwise.

Limited server data

License verification sends only the license key and an extension-generated device ID to our secure API.

No sale of extension data

We do not sell extension data or use it for advertising, credit decisions, or unrelated purposes.

Website services

The website may use Stripe for payments and Google AdSense for advertising and related cookies.

Extension Data Handling

Browser ToolBox handles content only when you start a tool. Depending on the feature, this can include selected text or images, visible page content, page assets, screenshots, speech input, files, and text you enter. These inputs and generated results are processed locally and are not uploaded to our servers.

The extension stores preferences, pinned tools, usage counters, your license key, an extension-generated device ID, and license status in Chrome local storage. This information is used only to operate the extension and remember your settings.

License Verification

When you verify a Pro license, the extension sends the license key and generated device ID over HTTPS to edittobase64.com. We use them to validate the purchase, enforce the licensed device limit, and return the license status. License records may include the purchaser email address, Stripe Checkout session identifier, device identifiers, and seat limit.

Local AI and Browser Services

AI model files may be downloaded from Hugging Face and cached by your browser. Model downloads can expose ordinary request information, such as your IP address and browser headers, to that provider, but your page content, images, prompts, and generated results are not sent with those downloads. Background-removal model and runtime files are included in the extension package.

The Speech to Text tool uses Chrome's Web Speech API. Depending on your browser and settings, speech recognition may be provided by the browser vendor and subject to that vendor's privacy practices.

Payments

Payments are completed on the EditToBase64 website through Stripe. Stripe processes payment details and may collect your email address. We do not receive or store complete card numbers. The Chrome extension itself does not collect financial or payment information.

Advertising and Cookies

We display advertisements through Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. These cookies allow Google to show you personalized ads.

You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings or AboutAds. Learn more at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

For users in the EEA/UK/CH, we aim to respect applicable consent requirements.

Data Security

Server communications use HTTPS. Authentication and license information is not publicly disclosed. You can remove locally stored extension data by uninstalling the extension or clearing its site data.

Chrome Web Store Limited Use

The use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We use extension data only to provide or improve the extension's user-facing features, do not sell it, and do not use it for personalized advertising or lending decisions.

Changes to This Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page.
